An online-only auction is scheduled next week for fine art, furniture, collectibles and personal mementos from the Bel-Air estate of romance novelist Judith Krantz, who died in June 2019 at the age of 91.

“Abell is honored to offer a stunning collection from the longtime Los Angeles residence of Judith Krantz, who achieved incredible publishing success and became one of the world’s first celebrity authors,” said Joe Baratta, Abell Auction Co.’s senior vice president of business development. “This is an opportunity for buyers, collectors and fans from around the globe to acquire an item she treasured during her remarkable life.”

Items scheduled to be auctioned include an ink wash painting by Reuven Rubin, a Charles & Ray Eames lounge chair and ottoman, and a Marc Chagall lithograph, along with a decoupage assembly of Krantz’s book covers.

A complete catalog will be available Friday on www.abell.com.

An auction preview will be conducted by appointment between next Monday and next Wednesday at the Abell gallery, 2613 Yates Ave, Los Angeles.

The auction is set to get underway at 9 a.m. April 8. Buyers may place absentee bids with Abell directly, bid via telephone or bid online at LiveAuctioneers.com and Invaluable.com.

Krantz wrote 10 romance novels, including the New York Times bestsellers “Scruples” and “Princess Daisy.” Seven of her books were adapted for television as mini-series.
