Vanessa Lachey’s attorneys are seeking a court order preventing the public dissemination of her testimony from her upcoming deposition in a lawsuit by a man who maintains the television personality, who is also the wife of Nick Lachey, was at fault when their cars collided in 2020, allegedly leaving him seriously injured.
Lachey’s attorneys filed court papers on Friday with Van Nuys Superior Court Judge Huey P. Cotton asking for a protective order to prevent her statements from being published in the tabloid media. Lachey was sued for negligence by plaintiff Luis Delgadillo on Nov. 16.
“Vanessa Joy Lachey is a well well-known and recognized actress/celebrity and is frequently stalked by paparazzi and the media,” Lachey’s attorney, Angela Boiadjian, states in her court papers. “To adequately protect Ms. Lachey’s security and privacy, it is respectfully requested that this protective order be granted.”
Boiadjian further states in her court papers that Delgadillo’s attorney did not agree to limit who sees Lachey’s testimony, forcing the actress to go to court for an order.
The collision between Delgadillo and Lachey occurred Dec. 15, 2020, in Tarzana. Delgadillo’s lawyer has noticed Lachey’s deposition for Thursday and asks that she bring with her copies of her driver’s license, insurance coverage and auto registration papers.
Lachey, 42, has starred in two network sitcoms and hosted various competition and reality shows. She has the lead role in the CBS spinoff, “NCIS: Hawai’i.”
