“Beverly Hills, 90210” alum Tori Spelling filed for divorce Friday from her husband of nearly 18 years, actor Dean McDermott.
Her Los Angeles Superior Court petition cites irreconcilable differences.
She and McDermott have five children — three sons and two daughters. Spelling’s petition seeks physical custody and joint legal custody of the children, the youngest of whom is 7 and the oldest 17.
Spelling, 50, is the daughter of the late film and television producer Aaron Spelling, whose credits included “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Charlie’s Angels” and “Dynasty.” She made a series of guest appearances as a child actor on various shows before she was cast as Donna Martin on her father’s “90210,” making her a star in her own right.
She and McDermott, who married in 2006, appeared in several reality shows — “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” “Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings” and “Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever.”
McDermott, 57, is a native Canadian who appeared in the series “Due South” and has had roles in shows including “NCIS” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”
The marriage was the second for both Spelling and McDermott.
