“Sesame Street” and “SpongeBob SquarePants” were among the nominees announced Friday for the Producers Guild of America Award for outstanding children’s program.
Also receiving nominations were “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” “Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock” and “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.”
For sports programs, nominations went to “Formula 1: Drive to Survive,” “Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants,” “Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend,” “Simone Biles Rising” and “Triumph: Jesse Owens and the Berlin Olympics.”
The PGA also announced nominations in the short-form program category, which went to “The Crown: Farewell to a Royal Epic,” “Hacks: Bit by Bit,” “The Penguin: Inside Gotham,” “Real Time with Bill Maher: Overtime” and “Shogun — The Making of Shogun.”
The 37th PGA Awards ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 8 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City.
The PGA will announce its film and television nominations on Jan. 10.
The PGA honor for motion pictures is a highly coveted prize, since it generally foretells success in the Oscar best picture category.
