Oscar-winning costume designer Jenny Beavan will receive a Career Achievement Award from the Costume Designers Guild in recognition of her achievements in the field, the guild announced Friday.
Beavan is a 12-time Oscar nominee for costume design, winning three times for her work on “A Room with a View,” “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “Cruella.” Her other credits include “The King’s Speech,” “Gosford Park,” “Sense and Sensibility,” “The Remains of the Day” and “Howards End.” She is also a five-time Emmy Award nominee, winning twice.
The guild’s Career Achievement Award recognizes and individual “whose career in costume design has left an indelible mark on film and television.”
“I am very honored to be receiving this award,” Beavan said in a statement released by the guild. “How wonderful to be recognized by such a fabulous group — costume designers. The best!”
She will receive the honor during the Feb. 6 Costume Designers Guild Awards ceremony at The Ebell of Los Angeles.
Also during the ceremony, costume designer and three-term guild president Salvador Perez will be presented with a Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes individuals who “have significantly advanced the art of costume design.”
“Being a member of the Costume Designers Guild has always been a great source of pride for me,” Perez said in a statement. “I am constantly inspired by my colleagues. Having served on the executive board of the CDG for 25 years, including nine years as president, I am so proud of the legacy we as a community have built for ourselves. To be honored for my work for the guild is very humbling. There is no greater honor than to be included by your peers.”
Perez has worked on films including “Titanic,” “The Flintstones,” “Pitch Perfect” and “Hocus Pocus 2.”
