Brad Everett Young, an actor and photographer who appeared in many Hollywood projects and was widely admired by his colleagues, died in a car accident in Los Angeles this week, his publicist confirmed Thursday.
After seeing a movie, Young was driving home alone on the Ventura (134) Freeway late Sunday night when his car was struck by a vehicle going in the wrong direction, his publicist Paul Christensen told The Hollywood Reporter.
He died at the scene, while the other driver was hospitalized.
Young was 46.
The Virginia native had roles in TV shows such as “Felicity” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” and films including “Charlie’s Angels,” “Love & Basketball,” “I Love You, Man” and “Jurassic Park III.”
In addition to his acting portfolio, Young was a multitalented man who also achieved great success as a celebrity photographer. His work appeared in Vanity Fair, Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, People, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and other publications.
“We just did a shoot a couple weeks ago and we texted this weekend,” “General Hospital” actor Chris McKenna wrote on social media. “Brad was such a talented, funny, warm, caring guy. He donated his time, his talent, he raised money for underserved schools and the world is darker today without his light. Rest easy, bud.”
Young photographed several actors on “General Hospital.”
He also founded the Dream Loud Official campaign, which promotes music and art programs in schools.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for Young at gofundme.com/f/bradley-everett-young.
