Queen Latifah will host the 52nd American Music Awards on May 25, 31 years after co-hosting the ceremony.
“A true powerhouse and trailblazer, she brings a dynamic presence and deep connection to both fans and fellow artists, making her the perfect choice to lead a night celebrating the biggest names and most defining moments in music,” Jay Penske, CEO, Dick Clark Productions, which produces the awards, said in a statement Monday announcing that Latifah will host the ceremony.
Nominations will be announced next Tuesday, with fan voting beginning the same day and running through May 8.
The ceremony will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and be televised by CBS.
Latifah’s co-hosts in 1995 were Tom Jones and Lorrie Morgan.
