A summer lineup of film screenings and conversations with numerous filmmakers will be presented by Festival Theaters in Palm Springs in the upcoming weeks.

“We’re building something that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the desert, a place where you can see a great film and then sit in the same room as the person who made it,” Zack Solomon, general manager of the facility, said in a statement. “The support from our community has been extraordinary and we’re committed to keeping these experiences as fun, accessible and affordable as possible.”

The lineup includes a premiere of “Atropia,” followed by a conversation with actress Alia Shawkat at 7 p.m. July 2. “Maddie’s Secret” will be showcased at 7 p.m. July 23, followed by a post-film Q&A with comedian and the film’s director, John Early.

Other upcoming screenings will include:

— “Coroner to the Stars,” with director Ben Hethcoat at 7 p.m. June 23;

— “Situations,” with writer, director and actor Greg Vrotsos at 7 p.m. July 11, and

— the Palm Springs International ShortFest from June 23-29.

The venue will continue a summer season of exclusive premieres and conversations following the sold-out screening with Academy-Award director Paul Thomas Anderson with his film “Hard Eight” and comedian Guy Branum of “Stop! That! Train!”.
