Journalist Ed Bradley, actors Ted Danson and Jean Smart, documentary producer Sheila Nevins, “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos will be inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in August.

The seven honorees will be recognized during the 28th Hall of Fame ceremony Aug. 13, kicking off Televerse 26, the Television Academy’s annual television festival at the JW Marriott at L.A. Live., according to organizers.

The Television Academy Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made outstanding lifetime contributions to the arts, sciences or management of television, organizers said. Bradley, a longtime “60 Minutes” correspondent who died in 2006, will be inducted posthumously.

“These visionary performers, creators, executives and storytellers have made a profound and enduring impact on the television industry,” Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego said in a statement. “Through their innovation, talent and dedication to their craft, they have helped transform and enrich the medium, influencing generations of audiences and professionals alike.”

Danson is being honored for a television career that includes “Cheers,” “The Good Place,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “A Man on the Inside.” Smart has won seven Emmy Awards and currently stars in HBO Max’s “Hacks.”

Nevins, a longtime executive at HBO Documentary Films, oversaw the production of more than 1,500 documentaries during her career and has won 32 Primetime Emmy Awards.

Parker and Stone are being recognized for co-creating the long-running Comedy Central animated series “South Park” and the Broadway musical “The Book of Mormon.”

Sarandos, who became Netflix co-CEO in 2020, helped lead the company’s transition into original programming with series including “House of Cards,” “Orange Is the New Black” and the revival of “Arrested Development.”

Televerse 26 is scheduled for Aug. 14-16 and will feature behind-the-scenes events and discussions celebrating television production. The Hall of Fame ceremony will be separately ticketed.
