The magnitude 3.5 temblor hit at a depth of six tenths of a mile at 2:21 a.m., its epicenter 37 miles north of Joshua Tree, according to a computer- generated report, the USGS reported from the Caltech Seismological Laboratory in Pasadena.
There were no immediate reports of damages.
