People in Southern California took to social media Tuesday to share videos and photos of what was believed to be a meteor shooting across the sky.
The bright flash was spotted around 9 p.m. from as far south as San Diego and as far north as Los Angeles, according to broadcast reports.
An official with the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles told NBC4 the fireball could have been something as small as a tennis ball that exploded when it reached the Earth’s atmosphere.
