A fire scorched about an acre and a half of brush in an exclusive area of Coldwater Canyon in Beverly Hills Monday and threatened several multi-million dollar homes before being extinguished.
The blaze was reported about 11:35 a.m. in the 1700 block of Monte Cielo Court, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A check of the Zillow website indicated the homes along that block may be worth anywhere from $2 million to more than $5 million, spanning more than 5,000 square feet each.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire, which was extinguished in about 45 minutes. Some firefighters remained on scene dousing hot spots and watching for possible flare-ups.
Los Angeles city firefighters were assisted by Beverly Hills firefighters, and the Los Angeles County Fire Department provided a helicopter and four ground crews.
