
A 3.0-magnitude earthquake centered about 2 miles northwest of Santa Monica lightly shook the area at 10:28 p.m. on Monday night.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the quake was felt as far north as Simi Valley and as far south as Mission Viejo.
The quake was approximately 5 miles underground in the Santa Monica Canyon area, according to the USGS.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
