Several sixth-graders at an elementary school in South Los Angeles were sickened Tuesday afternoon after ingesting an unknown substance.
Two McKinley Elementary School students were taken to a hospital by ambulance and another was taken for medical care by a parent, according to Los Angeles School Police Department Sgt. Julie Spry.
She said school police were notified about 1:20 p.m. of the stricken students at McKinley Elementary, 7812 McKinley Ave. in the Florence area.
All three students are doing OK, she said, adding that authorities are unsure what the children ingested.
