Orange County firefighters with power tools came to the rescue of a kitten trapped in a concrete block wall in Santa Ana.

Crews responded at 9:15 p.m. Friday to a report of a trapped kitten in the 4500 block of West Posey Street. The animal had fallen into an open cell of a cinder-block wall.

Firefighters used power tools and a sledgehammer to open a hole in the wall, rescuing the trapped kitten.

The kitten is believed to be a stray and Santa Ana Police Department is helping the Orange County Fire Authority find a temporary home and veterinary care for the animal.
