Power was expected to be restored about 6 a.m. Monday to 588 Southern California Edison customers in Gardena after problems with two related circuits and a vault knocked out power.
The outage first affected about 20,000 customers, SCE spokeswoman Jude Schneider said. It began about 6:30 p.m. Sunday near 158th Street and Western Avenue.
Affected areas ran from Redondo Beach Boulevard south to Artesia Boulevard and Western Avenue and east to Normandie Avenue, she said.
The remaining affected area is bounded by Crenshaw Avenue on the west, Marine Avenue on the north, Normandie Avenue on the east and 187th Street on the south, Schneider said.
