Two adults and two children were in fair condition Sunday morning following a fire in a second-story apartment in Van Nuys, authorities said.

It took firefighters 15 minutes to put out the fire at the two-story apartment complex at 6701 Woodley Ave, which was reported at 12:45 a.m., according to Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The two adults and two children were evaluated at the scene and then transported to a local hospital, Bastman said. No further information was available on their conditions.

The cause of the fire and the amount of the loss remains under investigation.
