Firefighters prevented a fire from spreading beyond the attic of a one-story home in Chatsworth Sunday, although it took more than an hour to put out the flames, authorities said.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was reported at 12:01 a.m. on the 22000 block of West Mayall Street, said Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from an attached garage and the home’s attic and used aggressive methods to get the fire under control, Bastman said.
The cause and amount of the loss remains under investigation.
