A fireworks show accompanied by a country music mix is scheduled to follow Friday evening’s Los Angeles Dodgers-San Diego Padres game.
Fans will be invited onto the field to watch the show, which will take place before 11 p.m. and is subject to cancellation if the game lasts too long, like all of the Friday night fireworks shows at Dodger Stadium.
In connection with Hawaii Night, a Pineapple Dole Whip Float on pineapple juice with a cherry will be available at the King’s Hawaiian Grill in the Left Field Plaza and at Section 6 in the Top Deck. There will also be a Hawaiian DJ, hula dancers and Hawaiian drummers performing in the Right Field Plaza before the game.
A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Stanley Kao, Taiwan’s representative to the United States.
The Military Hero of the Game will be former U.S. Marine Corps GySgt. Anthony Michael Rios Jr., who was awarded the Purple Heart for being hit with a rocket-propelled grenade during an ambush in Afghanistan in 2010. Rios was an artillery scout observer who was also deployed to Iraq three times.
