One person was freed from the wreckage of a two-vehicle crash in Koreatown and four others suffered serious injuries.

Firefighters responded to the 4500 block of Beverly Boulevard, near Western Avenue, about 5:05 a.m. and began working to free the trapped person, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The person who was freed was in a vehicle that was wrapped around a light pole, video from the scene showed.

That person was taken to a hospital in unknown condition and the other four patients were listed in serious condition, Prange said.

Details of what caused the crash were unknown.
