
Fire damaged one unit of a two-story apartment building in Van Nuys Friday and sent one person to a hospital.
Firefighters responded to the 15800 block of Saticoy Street, between Haskell and Woodley avenues, at 3:05 a.m. and began working to extinguish the flames, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
One person was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation, Stewart said.
A total of 31 firefighters extinguished the fire in just 12 minutes, she said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
