A head-on crash between two pickups Saturday evening in Palmdale killed one person and injured two, authorities said.
The collision was reported about 8:30 p.m. at 170th Street East and Palmdale Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Two patients were trapped, one in each vehicle, fire officials said. Firefighters used Jaws of Life equipment to free them, officials said.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Two were taken to hospitals.
The vehicles were a white and a red pickup, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
