Fire tore through the attic of a one-story home in Van Nuys Thursday evening before firefighters were able to extinguish the flames.
The fire was reported about 9:50 p.m. in the 13800 block of Valerio Street, west of Woodman Avenue, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Heavy fire was reported in the attic and around the 948-square-foot home, Humphrey said.
A total of 31 firefighters extinguished the flames in 27 minutes, he said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
