Firefighters Saturday knocked down a stubborn attic fire at a single-story home in East Hollywood besieged by excessive storage conditions.
Firefighters dispatched at 12:07 p.m. to 832 N. Normandie Ave. had the fire out within 53 minutes of their arrival, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
At one point, the blaze extended down into the structure, Stewart said.
“Crews faced a stubborn attic fire, in addition to excessive storage conditions inside,” she said. “Firefighters made their way through to reach the interior fire, while the roof ventilation group and additional outside hand lines hit the attic fire.”
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation, Stewart said.
