A fire broke out Saturday in an unattached garage at a home in the Green Meadows section of South Los Angeles and a firefighter was burned battling the blaze, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire at 842 E. 92nd St. was reported at 4:52 p.m., said fire department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
The fire was stopped from spreading to the house, Stewart continued.
The department dispatched 34 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in about 17 minutes, Stewart said.
One firefighter suffered a non-life-threatening burn injury to an extremity and he was transported to a hospital for treatment, Stewart said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation, she said.
