A hazardous materials team was sent to investigate a report of a gas or sulfur odor in Chatsworth and Santa Clarita Tuesday, but no odor was detected.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department received public complaints about the odor Tuesday morning, and county fire crews, hazmat units, and a team from South Coast Air Quality Management District responded to both areas about 9:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Tests did not show elevated levels of methane, but the investigation is ongoing, said Bradley J. Whitaker, senior public information specialist for South Coast Air Quality Management District.
