Two people were hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday morning with injuries they sustained in a two-vehicle crash in Whittier.
The crash occurred near the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Broadway about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
A total of four people were taken to hospitals, two in critical condition, two with moderate injuries. One person had to be freed from the wreckage by firefighters, the department said.
A news photographer at the scene said one of the vehicles was wrapped around a pole in the area.
Details of the crash were not immediately available.
