Firefighters knocked down a blaze inside a two-story, fourplex unit in the Westlake area Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire inside the home at 413 S. Witmer St. was reported at 3:05 p.m., fire department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.

The fire was inside the top floor of the fourplex, Stewart said. The department sent 38 firefighters to the scene and the flames were extinguished in about 16 minutes, Stewart said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
