A quarter-acre brush fire broke out Tuesday in a residential area of Studio City, but a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter doused the flames before they spread to any homes.
The fire was reported about 5:50 p.m. in the 3500 block of Woodhill Canyon Place, near Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Wilacre Park, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
An LAFD helicopter extinguished the flames about 7 p.m., and firefighters cut a line in the brush to separate the unburned area from the burned area, which had some smoldering material, Prange said.
No injuries were reported.
