A fire in a vacant home in South Los Angeles was extinguished Wednesday evening in 14 minutes.
Firefighters responded to 422 W. 91st Place, near Flower Street and just west of the Harbor (110) Freeway, at 10:03 p.m. and encountered heavy smoke showing from the two-story home, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A total of 28 firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading beyond the first floor of the home and a knockdown was called at 10:17 p.m., Prange said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
