A fire that scorched about one-half acre of grass was knocked down Saturday by Los Angeles firefighters.

The blaze ignited near 400 E. Montecito Drive about 9:20 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.

The department dispatched 46 firefighters and extinguished the fire in 31 minutes, Prange said.

No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, he continued.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
