Firefighters stopped the forward progress of a two-acre brush fire Saturday that burned into the Angeles National Forest in Acton.

Los Angeles County firefighters responded at about 2:15 p.m. to a fire that was burning uphill but not threatening structures at 31880 Aliso Canyon Road, officials said.

Two helitankers and three water-dropping helicopters were called to the scene, officials said.

Just before 3 p.m., county fire officials reported the forward progress of the fire had stopped and that it was determined to be in the Angeles National Forest and in U.S. Forest Service jurisdiction.

County firefighters were to remain on scene to assist in putting out the remaining flames.
