A 78-year-old woman who suffers from schizophrenia went missing in Pico Rivera Wednesday.
Mercedes Lopez, of Los Angeles, was last seen about 10:05 a.m. in the 8900 block of Mines Avenue, near Rosemead Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. She was wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray pants and purple glasses.
Lopez is described as Hispanic, 5 feet, 3 inches tall, 130 pounds, with brown eyes and short white hair, the sheriff’s department reported.
Authorities circulated a photo of Lopez and encouraged anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact the sheriff’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500. Those wishing to report anonymously can call 800-222-TIPS.
