A fire inside a room in a four-plex in Chinatown was extinguished Saturday evening.

The blaze inside the two-story building at 966 Yale St. was reported at 9:23 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.

The department dispatched 44 firefighters to the scene, Prange said.

The flames were knocked down in less than 20 minutes, he said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
