Authorities Wednesday announced upcoming closures of sections of two streets in Glendora as part of the 9.1-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project from Glendora to Pomona.

On Friday, Glendora Avenue will be closed at the rail crossing, according to the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority.

On Tuesday of next week, Barranca Avenue will be closed at the rail crossing, officials said.

The long-term closures will allow crews to relocate underground utilities, rebuild the street, relocate the existing freight track and install two sets of light rail tracks.
