A vehicle that caught fire during a traffic collision ignited some brush in Eagle Rock Tuesday afternoon, but fire crews extinguished the blaze before any structures were damaged.

The fire broke out about 1:40 p.m. near the 2700 block of West Broadway, near where the Glendale (2) and Ventura (134) freeways intersect, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department, which was assisted by the Glendale Fire Department.

Wind carried embers to two places on the north side of Broadway, but in about 25 minutes, the fire’s spread was stopped and the flames were surrounded by crews, who extinguished the blaze with the help of helicopter water drops, according to Prange.
