Firefighters extinguished a fire inside one unit in an apartment building in Watts Monday that almost spread to the building’s attic, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The blaze inside the two-story apartment building at 1745 E. 103rd St. was reported at 2:56 p.m., LAFD spokesman Nicholas Prange said.

The department dispatched 41 firefighters to the scene and the flames were extinguished in about 32 minutes, he continued.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
