A portion of the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Lancaster will be closed overnight for bridge preservation maintenance.
All northbound lanes will be closed between Avenue G and Avenue H at 8 p.m. and reopened at 5 a.m. Thursday, according to Marc Bischoff of Caltrans District 7.
Southbound lanes will be closed in the same area at 7 p.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. Thursday, Bischoff said.
“This is a bridge preservation project on State Routes 14 and 138 in Los Angeles County, preserving a total of 11 bridges,” Bischoff said.
“The work involves applying methacrylate on deck, replacing joint seals, resurfacing the deck with polyester overlay, and replacing approach and departure slabs,” he said. “This project will improve bridge health, improve safety, enhance ride quality and extend the service life of the structures.”
