A deputy who was reported to have been accidentally shot by her partner Friday morning at the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station later showed stable vital signs.
The shooting occurred about 5:05 a.m. at the station, in the 1300 block of West Imperial Highway, as the two deputies were preparing their patrol vehicle for their shift, according to Deputy Eric Ortiz of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A deputy “unintentionally discharged his firearm” and shot his partner, who was sitting behind the steering wheel of the parked vehicle, Ortiz said.
She was taken to a hospital, where her vital signs were reported to be stable.
Further information, including the identities of the deputies, was not released.
