A woman died Sunday evening in a crash on the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Santa Clarita.
The crash happened at Newhall Avenue about 6:35 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. It temporarily blocked the Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 lanes.
The CHP initially reported on their incident page that a child did not have a pulse, but updated it later with the fatality information. CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service the fatality was a woman, not a child. Her identity was not immediately disclosed.
There were other injuries but Kravig did not yet have any details on either their number or conditions.
The coroner’s office was notified of the death, Kravig said.
A SigAlert was issued by the CHP at 6:49 p.m., and by 11:20 p.m., only lanes 4 and 5 remained closed.
