Firefighters knocked down a number of auto fires inside an “auto boneyard” near the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Shadow Hills Sunday and stopped the fires from moving into nearby brush, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fires inside the auto yard at 8618 W. La Tuna Canyon Road were reported shortly before 2 p.m., LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
The department sent 60 firefighters to the scene, Stewart said. The fires were extinguished in about 23 minutes, she said.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fires remained under investigation.
