The mystery death plunge of a Montebello man from a San Pedro cliff was a tragic accident, authorities ruled Friday.
There were few details yet available, but the victim sustained “multiple traumatic injuries” when he strayed too close to the cliff edge before tumbling down to his death, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Andres Marquez, 27, was found dead about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the base of the cliff in the 800 block of West Paseo del Mar, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and the Los Angeles Fire Department.
However, officials did not disclose any details of how the victim fell to his death or why he was in the area.
