A fire scorched about two acres of brush in the Santa Clarita area, though no one was hurt.
The fire was reported early Thursday afternoon near Sierra Highway and Needham Ranch Parkway.
It was initially reported to have burned five acres, but was downgraded to about two by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Firefighters stopped forward progress of the brusher about 1:30 p.m. and were scheduled to remain on scene for several hours to mop up any remaining hot spots.
No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged.
