A man in his mid-20s was fatally shot and another suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds in a shooting Sunday morning at a park in La Puente.
Deputies dispatched at 1:50 a.m. to the 700 block of Greenberry Drive, regarding a “shots heard” call, located one of the men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau reported.
Deputies then located a second victim nearby with several gunshot wounds to the leg and lower torso. Paramedics rushed him to an area hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives later found evidence the shooting occurred within Allen J. Martin Park, in the 14800 block of East Giordano Street.
