“Dune” held onto its spot atop the box office this weekend, grossing $15.5 million in its second week, according to industry estimates released Sunday.
The science fiction epic — a remake of a 1984 film — is also available for home viewing on the HBO Max streaming service.
“Halloween Kills” took the second spot with $8.5 million in its third week, while the James Bond film “No Time to Die” grossed another $7.8 million for third place in its fourth week of release.

Fourth place went to the Japanese anime film “My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission,” which opened with a surprisingly strong $6.4 million. The film, being released in the U.S. by Funimation, led all movies this week with a per-screen average of $4,000, Comscore reported.
“Venom: Let There be Carnage” was fifth with $5.7 million in its fifth week in theaters.
Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “Antlers” ($4.1 million), “Last Night in Soho” ($4.1 million), “Ron’s Gone Wrong” ($3.8 million), “Addams Family 2” ($3.2 million) and “The French Dispatch” ($2.7 million).
