A 7-year-old girl who was not the intended target was shot in a foot Tuesday evening in the unincorporated Willowbrook area near South Los Angeles, a sheriff’s deputy said.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called at 8:45 p.m. to the intersection of Imperial Highway and Central Avenue just north of the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway where the girl was shot, said Deputy Miguel Meza of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The girl was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood and is hospitalized in stable condition, Meza said.
There is no suspect information and the shooting is under investigation.
