One person was killed and two others critically injured Friday evening in a two-vehicle collision in South Los Angeles.

The collision was reported at 7:55 p.m. at 1098 E. 66th St., near Central Avenue, according to Brian Humphrey, a Los Angeles Fire Department public information officer.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The person’s name was not released pending notification of next of kin.

Two other people were taken to a hospital in critical condition, Humphrey said.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
