Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire in Westlake Thursday.

Fire crews were called at 1:38 a.m. to 2325 W. Ocean View Ave. where they encounter flames coming out of a single unit of a three-story center-hall apartment house, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.

The fire was in one unit on the third floor and the flames were held in check by the building sprinklers, Prange continued.

Thirty-six firefighters put the fire out in 12 minutes.

No injuries were reported and Prange said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
