At least one person was killed in a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 215 Sunday morning.

The wreck was reported at 6:28 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway near Columbia Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It was not immediately clear how many people were injured in the collision, but at least one person died, the CHP said.

The crash temporarily caused gridlock and a Sigalert was issued, but all lanes reopened at 9:12 a.m.
