A ticket with all six numbers in Tuesday evening’s multi-state Mega Millions draw was sold in New York and the ticket holder will have the choice between receiving the estimated $20 million jackpot in 30 graduated payments over 29 years or a lump sum payment of $10.5 million.
The numbers drawn Tuesday were 7, 9, 15, 19, 25 and the Mega number was 4.
This was the second consecutive drawing a ticket with all six numbers was sold. The ticket with all six numbers in Friday’s drawing was also sold in New York.
This is the first time in the game’s history that jackpots have been won in the same state in consecutive drawings, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association which conducts the game. Mega Millions began as the Big Game in 1996 and renamed Mega Millions in 2002.
A ticket with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, was sold at a gas station in San Diego and is worth $366,918, the California Lottery announced.
While tickets with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, sold in other states are worth $1 million or a multiple of $1 million, California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.
One ticket each with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, was also sold in Iowa, Maryland and Ohio and are each worth $1 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 302,575,350, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association,. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.
The Mega Millions game is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. Virgin Islands.
The jackpot for Friday’s drawing will be $20 million.
